New to this part of HB and needed some food while we were moving. Really friendly on the phone and ordering was a breeze. Got the house chicken, a vegetable only dish, and orange peel beef. Fairly priced and didn't have to wait long. Liked that they included the rice. All were good but the house chicken was the stand out. Hoping to go for a sit down next time to see how it is. Will be returning!
It's funny how the small restaurant names it self EGGRO KING.. yet we all know it here in Yelp as Egg Roll King. Today was very busy. Each table was occupied. I went in and ordered for takeout. The lovely missus texted me, and the magic letters are SS and steamed rice. Well, we all know that SS stands for sweet and sour pork, her favorite. I wanted a meatless lunch, and the tofu with lots of vegetables in a soy sauce was a good choice. The plates come with steamed rice and spring roll and wonton and a fortune cookie. The order was prepared quickly and put into the familiar plastic bag. Eggro King lunch plates that I took home were the perfect choice for the late afternoon meal.
We ordered to go and got their house special chicken, chicken chowmein and egg Fried Rice. I feel like the Fried Rice was a little bland, the chicken Chow main was really good but what blew me away was the house special chicken! It was delicious!
My wife and I enjoy the woh wonton soup from Egg Roll King. It is fairly priced for the portions and quality that you get, I only wish they put charsiu in their wonton soup like most restaurants.
My partner just finished his haircut, and we decided to grab a bite before we worked out. This spot is a couple stores down, so we wanted to try it. Parking: They're located in a plaza with plenty of free parking. Easy to find. Ambiance/Environment: Walking in, we were not greeted. We seated ourselves at an open table. It's a small restaurant, so seating is limited. Very clean and looks new. We also noticed there were a lot of older caucasian customers, and we were the only Asians lol. Service: Our servers took care of us. The server that took our order is efficient. The cooks were also quick and efficient. We received our dishes within 10 minutes. The other server that delivered our dishes was kind. Food: The portions are shareable! Each dish on their menu is large! 1) Kung Pao Chicken - My partner ordered this, and we shared it. This dish came with a choice of white or brown rice. He chose brown rice. We enjoyed this dish! We adjusted it to make it a bit more spicy. The chicken was cooked well and coated with a good amount of kung pao sauce. It wasn't too salty. The vegetables made it even more tastier. 2) Honey Walnut Shrimp - I ordered this dish, and of course we both shared it. This also came with a choice of white or brown rice. I chose brown rice. The shrimp was pretty big, cooked well, and coated evenly. I looove the sauce! It was creamy, not too sweet, and had a strong lemon taste. Pricing: I'd say it's definitely worth its price. Portions are generous. If you don't finish, now you have food for the next day. They also offer lunch specials. If you don't want to dine, you can mobile order and pick up.
We had the Chicken Egg Rolls, Vegetable Egg Rolls, House Special Chicken plate and The Kung Pao Three Flavor plate (chicken, beef, shrimp). The rolls were crispy, flavorful and not greasy. The Chicken Egg Roll was our favorite. The plate dishes were fantastic! The service was attentive and professional. Our hot tea and lemonade were kept full and we were offered appetizers promptly. The dining area was clean and orderly and there is a beautiful aquarium to add to the ambiance.
My boyfriend and I recently ordered Chinese to go from here. Delicious food. We will be back. I got the combination fried rice, mushu pork, Mongolian beef and it was all very fresh and delicious. The Mongolian beef comes with a white rice. I also ordered the cream cheese wontons and they were delicious. The egg roll king lives up to its name as I also had to try one of those !
This place is going to be our GO TO for Chinese! We came here on a Thursday night around 6 pm, and it wasn't too busy. We were able to get a table for 5 right away. The inside is very small so the restaurant can't hold a huge party of over 8 people. We were lucky to get a spot. There was an older gentleman serving all the tables, and he took our order after a few minutes. We got the orange peel beef, honey walnut shrimp, house chowmein with beef, chicken, and shrimp, and the server suggested we get the house chicken. It also came with white rice on the side. They brought out crispy noodles as an appetizer with sweet sauce. Our food arrived and everything was delicious! The chowmein was super tasty, loved all the meat, and the house chicken was BOMB.COM! That was our favorite. My kids loved it. Honey walnut shrimp and orange beef were great, but the sauce was overpowering. As we were eating, the restaurant got super busy with a lot of people getting take out and a lot of people standing at the door. I'm super glad we found this spot and I recommend it to everyone!!
